The following article is about the celebrities that we lost in June of 2012.  I have already written articles about those that passed away in July through December.  In this article you will find out about the celebrities who passed away in July, the cause of death, the date of their death, and the age they were at the time of the death as well as what they did as a contribution to the entertainment industry.  Some names will be easily recognized while others may not. 

Doris Singleton:  Singleton was an actress on the I Love Lucy Show.  She also appeared on Lucy's subsequent TV shows.  She also was a radio voice actress and a trained dancer for the American Ballet Theater.  She died on June 27th at the age of 92.

Don Grady was a Mouseketeer but he was probably better know for playing Robbie Douglas on the television show My Three Sons.  Which lasted for 12 years starting back in 1960. He also had other small television roles over the years.  Grady also had an album called Homegrown and spent the later part of his career as a composer.  A little known fact is that is the one that wrote the theme song for the Phil Donahue show.  Grady lost his battle with cancer on June 27th.  He was 68 years old. 

Nora Ephron:  Nora Ephron was a very impressive woman She was an author a playwrite, a journalist, a director and a screenwriter.  Her most notable films were When Harry Met Sally, Sleepless in Seattle, and You've Got Mail. Ephron died at the age of 71.  She had fighting a batte against leukemia.  She died on June 26th. 

Rodney King:  Rodney King was not really a Hollywood Celebrity but he is someone most people knew.  He was the victim in the highly publicized taped Los Angeles Police brutality case in 1991.  King had been pulled over for a DUI and was beaten by officers.  The whole thing was caught on video tape.  Since then a lot of people have taping devices at the ready just in case something similar happens to them. Many police cars around the nation are also required to keep cameras in their cars as well in order to protect them for being falsly accused of police brutality.  The exact cause of King's death is unclear but it is very likely that he drowned. His girlfriend found him in the bottom of the pool and he was unresponsive when help arrived.  He was just 47 years old. He died on June 17th. 

Susan Tyrell:  Tyrell was an actress best known for her roles in the movies Cry Baby and Fat City. She died on June 16th at the age of 67.  Although the exact cause of her death was not released Tyrell did suffer from a blood disease and as a result of the disease both of her legs had been amputaed below the knee. 

Yvette Wilson: Best known for her role as Andell Wilkerson on the TV series Moesha she lost her battle with cervical cancer on June 14th.  She was just 48 years of age. 

Ann Rutherford:  Best known for her role as Scarlet O'Hara's younger sister in Gone With the Wind. Rutherford was played parts in the Andy Hardy series of films.  Rutherford died in her home from heart problems on June 11th at the age of 94. 

Frank Cady:  If you are over the age of 40 you probably can't help but remember Sam Drucker the general store owner on Green Acres.  He was also one of the stars on Petticoat Junction and he was on the Beverly Hillbillies.  He died at age 96 at his home.  His cause of death was not released. He passed away on June 8th. 

Marvin Vernell III:  Vernell was a rapper known as Lil Phat. He was a member of a group called Trill.  He was killed at the very young age of 19 died hours later after being shot several times in the parking lot of an Atlanta hospital on June 7th.

Bob Welch:  He was the guitar player for Fleetwood Mac. He had been having some health problems but it was he who took his own life by shooting himself in the chest on June 7th. He was 66 years of age. 

Ray Bradbury:  Bradbury was a famous author of Science Fiction, mystery, and horror books, a play write, and a screenplay witer.  His most popular books were Fahrenheit 451 and the Martian Chronicals.  He died on June 5th at the age of 91. It was said that he died peacefully. 

Richard Dawson:  Richard Dawson probably holds some sort of record for kissing the most female game show contestants.  Dawson was one of the stars of the television show Hogan's Heroes.  He was a panelist on the Match game soon after he became a long time host on the Game show Family Fued. Dawson also portrayed a game show host in the Arnold Schwartzeneger movie The Running Man.  He died on June 1st of esophageol cancer according to a different source he died on June 2nd, I am not sure which source is correct. He was 80 years old. 

Kathryn Joosten:  Best known for her role as Karen McKusky on Desperate Housewives.  Joosten played out her real life scenario on the show as her character Karen was also battling cancer and succumbed to the disease during the series finale.  On June 2nd she lost the battle for her real life to lung cancer.  She won two Emmy for her role on Desperate Housewives.  She was 72 years of age.
