In 2012 we lost many beloved celebrities and each month of the year brought more losses. There were so many in 2012 that it would be impossible to list them all in one article not to mention extremely long. John Rich: John Rich was a director, producer, and writer most known for his work on television series such as All in the Family, the Brady Bunch, Gilligan's Island, Murphy Brown and Benson, but he also did several other television shows 1959 to 1999.  He passed away on January 29th of heart failure.  He was 86 years of age. 

Ian Abercrombie: He was a television, stage and movie actor.  People will best know him as Elaine's Boss on Seinfeld.  He was also in movies such as Garfield and Lost World Jurassic Park.  The actor passed away on January 26th at the age of 77.  He had died of kidney failure, he had earlier been diagnosed with lymphoma. 

Robert Hegyes:  Most known for his role of Juan Epstein on Welcome Back Kotter.  He also had some appearances on other television series over the years such as the Drew Carey show.  Hegyes died at age 60 from a heart attack on January 26th. 

James Farentino:  Farentino was an actor best known for his roles on Melrose Place, ER and Dynasty.  He also appeared in a handful of movies including: Her Alibi, and Buttet Proof.  He passed away on January 24th at the age of 73 from heart failure.

Dick Tufeld:  Tufeld was a voice actor, best known for voicing the voice of the robot on Lost in Space.  He also did several other voice over jobs and narrations on shows such as Spiderman and His Amazing Friends, Fantastic Four, and Voyage to the Bottom of the Sea amongst others.  He passed away at the age of 85 on January 22nd.  He had, had some heart issues prior to passing away, but he was at home when he died. 

Etta James:  Etta James was a legendary singer.  She was a Grammy Winner best known for songs such as:  At Last and tell Mama. Most consider her voice one of the strongest of her generation and possibly ever.  She had not had it easy for the past few years as she had been battling blood cancer, dimentia, and kidney failure.  She passed away at the age of 73 on January 20th. She was just a few days shy of her 74th brithday. 

Johnny Otis:  Best Known as the Godfather of Rythm and Blues.  Johnny's first big hit was Harlem Nocturn.  Grease fans will best recognize his hit song Hand Jive which was featured in the movie.  The song was originally titles Willie and the Hand Jive.  He was also a talent scout of sorts, and wrote songs for other artists such as Gladys Night and the Pips, and he produced Hound Dog for Elvis Presley.  He had been in poor health  prior to his death and passed away at the age of 90 on January 17th. 

Bob Anderson:  He was a stunt actor.  His most notable stunts were done in the sword fights as Darth Vader in the original Star Wars Trylogies.  He passed away on January 1st at the age of 89, He was in the hospital when he passed away but the reason is unclear, it was said by a friend that he passed away peacefully.
