I am doing articles based on celebrities who passed away in 2012.  Because there are a little over 180 of them them I am breaking it down by the months that they passed away in order to keep the articles more concise and easier to read.  These are the celebrities who died in the month of April in 2012.

Greg Ham:  He was a member of the band Men at Work.  You may remember his flute playing from the song "A Land Down Under." His death is under investigation for a possible homicide.  He was 58 years old, his body was found on April 19th but he may have been dead for close to a week before he was found by fellow band members.

Levon Helm:  Singer and drummer for the band, The Band.  The Band was most known for the song The Night They Drove Ol Dixie Down.  He had been battling throat cancer for some time.  He passed away on April 19th at the age of 71

Jonathan Frid:  Most known for his role as Barnabis Collins on the television series Dark Shadows.  He was also a stage actor.  He passed away on April 14 at the age of 87.  He died of natural causes.

Dick Clark: Tonight America will remember Dick Clark fondly as we bring in the new year as he was the host of Dick Clarks Rocking New Years Eve for many years and we would all be watching the legendary DJ and Radio host as the ball drops in New York city.  In current years Ryan Seacrest has been taking over hosting duties but Dick Clark was still present at most of the celebrations and you could always see him kissing his wife after the ball dropped. For many years he hosted the 40 countdown on the radio and was also the host of American Band Stand. Clark suffered from a stroke several years ago. He passed away on April 18th after suffereing a massive heart attack.  He was 82 years of age.

Mike Wallace:  Mike Wallace was a journalist best known for his work on 60 Minutes. He was also an radio announcer on the Radio show The Green Hornet. He was also briefly a game show host on the short lived game show The Big Surprise. He also served as a panelist on the Game Show To Tell the Truth. He passed away at the age of 93 at a care facility on April 7th.

Thomas Kinkade: Kinkade was a famous painter who painted scenes such as cottages. His artwork and collectables were quite popular.  He passed away at the age of 54 on April 6th.  He passsed away from a drug (valium) and alcohol overdose.  Such a shame that the world will no longer be blessed with his lovely art work.
