Celebrities We Lost in July of 2012

I am continuing with the list of celebrities that we lost in 2012. This article will focus on those who passed away in July of 2012. I will give brief details of who they were, how they died, their claim to fame, and the age of their death. By dividing these deaths up I am hoping to honor all of those whose lives are lost by not creating an extremely long article.

Gore Vidale:  Vidale was a famous novelist and screenplay writer.  He wrote screenplays for movies such as Caligula.  He also appeared in a few television shows.  He died at the age of 86 from complications of pneumonia on July 31st. 

Lupe Ontiverose: Ontiverose was a Mexican/American actress best known to Americans from here role as Carlo's mother on Desperate House Wives and her role in the movie Salena where she played Yolanda Saldivar.  She died on July 27th at the age of 69 of liver cancer.

Chad Everett:  Best known for his starring role on the television show, "Medical Center." He died at his home on July 24th of lung cancer. He was 75 years old. 

Sherman Hemsley:  Most people will recognize him as the actor who played the beloved character of George Jefferson on the Jefferson whose character was actually introduced on All in the Family.  He died in his home on the 24th of July the cause of death is still unknown.  He was 74 years old. 

Jon Lord: He was a member of the band Deep Purple.  He died on July 16 at the age of 71.  He had pancreatic cancer. 

Ginny Tyler:  Tyler was a head Mouseketeer and a voice actress.  She voice acted a part of the parrot in the original Dr. Doolittle and sang the parts of some of the animals in Mary Poppins.  She died in a nursing home on July 12ths of natural causes.  She was 86 years old.

Kitty Wells:  Kitty Wells was a country singer and she had once given the name of the "Queen of Country Music."  and she was a Country Music Hall Inductee.  She was also the first woman to have a number one country hit.  She also won two awards from NARAS Including a Life Time Achievement award and A Music City News Living Legend award.  To this day no other female country recording actress has surpassed the achievements of Kitty Wells.  The country legend died in her home at the age of 92. 

Sage Stallone:  He is the son of Sylvester Stone and acted as his father's son in Rocky IV.  He also appeared and directed other films as well and wrote directed a short film called Vic.  He died on July 13th at the young age of 36. His death was shock and a mystery.  He had no health problems that anyone was aware of and no history of drug or alcohol abuse, there were some perscription drugs in the home but nothing has come out as them being the cause of death.  There was also no suicide note or signs of foul play.  He was set to get married in a very short time. They believe that he may have been dead several days before he was found.  He was found by a housekeeper and police. 

Richard Zanuck:  Zanuck was a producer best known for Driving Miss Daisy which he won an Oscar for.  He died on July 13th of a heart attach. He was 77 years old. 

Ernest Borgnine:  Borgnine was an Academy Award winning actor. Aside from a very respectable movie career Borgnine also played Quinton McHale on the television show McHale's Navy.  Borgnine himself was a veteran.  Borgnine was also in all 4 of the Dirty Dozen films.  He died of renal failure on July 8th at the age of 95. 

Erik Sykes: Sykes was a British comedic actor and writer.  American's will likely recognize him as the grounds keeper in Harry Potter and the Goblet of Fire.  He also created and starred in his own television series Sykes and a .... followed by, Sykes and a Big Big Show, and then Sykes which lasted for 7 years.  He was widely acclaimed in Brittain and he had a long and varied list of movie achievments.  He died on July 4th at the age of 89 following a breif illness.

Andy Griffith:  Few men are as beloved as Andy Griffith. He starred for many years in his self titled "The Andy Griffith show"  He also played televisions Matlock which was on the air in the in the 80's and 90's for 10 years which is an impressive run for any television series.  Griffith had been suffering with many health problems.  He died on July 3rd at the age of 86.
