Lindsay Lohan Sues E-Trade for $100 Million

Lindsay Lohan believes that she is recognizable by just her first name alone. She has put herself in the same category with the likes of Cher, Madonna, Bono, Eminem, Jewel and Oprah and is suing the company of E-Trade over a commercial that she feels is using her persona.

In this commercial with one of the famous E-Trade babies, the boy baby is talking on the phone to his apparent girlfriend. He is explaining why he did not call her and going over the facts that he was on E-Trade checking his portfolio and researching stocks. The baby girl on the other end of the phone then asks him if that “milk-o-holic” Lindsay was over there. He mumbles; “Lindsay”, when a baby girl enters the screen and says; “milk-o-what?” Well she has filed a lawsuit according the New York Post for $50 million in exemplary damages and another $50 million in compensatory damages.

This commercial originally debuted as one of the special commercials of the Super Bowl on February 7th. People watch the Super Bowl as much for the football match up of the two best teams as they look forward to the introduction of new commercials that cost a fortune for as little as a few seconds of viewing time.

Lohan’s lawyer, Stephanie Ovadia is claiming that Lindsay Lohan has the same one name recognition as Cher or Madonna and should be able to sue the financial company because whoever sees the commercial will immediately recognize the name Lindsay and associate it with Lindsay Lohan.

Lindsay Lohan made her acting debut at eleven years of age in Disney’s remake of “The Parent Trap” in 1998 and her career took off in 2003 with her starring role in “Freaky Friday” and then “Mean Girls” and “Herbie: Fully Loaded.” She also had starring roles in films by Robert Altman; “A Prairie Home Companion” and “Bobby” and also had a singing career concurrently with the acting and released two albums. In 2004 she released Speak and in 2005 “A Little More Personal (Raw)”

Lohan has been a favorite of the paparazzi and has had her share of minor car crash accidents. In 2006 she attended Alcoholics Anonymous meetings and has been in rehab for alcoholism and drug abuse, which will most likely be her defense of the “milk-o-holic” reference in the E-Trade commercial.

Great job Diane! You know, I saw that commercial and never once thought they were taking about her! :-)

Wow, she has got a lot of nerve. Better not name your kids Lindsay from now on or Lohan might sue you.

Rachel, that is a great point!!

She thinks she's really something. Some of us don't think so. The name Lindsay is not in the likes of Cher or Madonna.

This egomaniac is just trying to keep her "name" in the news!!! She doesn't have a prayer!
