Ben Breedlove an Angel Flown Too Soon

Ben Breedlove leaves a video blog recorded 1 week before he died from cardiac arrest that is found 1 day after his death, almost as if he knew he was going to pass. Ben Breedlove passed from cardiac failure on Christmas 2011.

Ben Breedlove was born August 8, 1993 in Austin, TX and passed away December 25, 2011 of congenital heart failure. On November 27, 2010 Ben and his friend Justin started OurAdvice4You on You Tube. It is a video blog in Q&A form where people could ask them relationship questions and they would answer by video blogging on different topics ranging from does size matter, signs a guy doesn’t like you, what guys would like to see a girl wear and the differences between guys & girls. Some of the videos are cute and funny www.youtube.com/watch and some tackle more serious content. Ben even blogged a very touching memorial to his 70 year old neighbor after her death www.youtube.com/watch. Ben was a very sensitive young man and had a true heart.

On May 23, 2011 Ben launched BreedloveTV on You Tube and on December 18, 2011 he launched TotalRandomness512 on You Tube which went viral after his death on Christmas day. Ben had been battling hypertrophy cardiomyopathy (when a part of the muscle of the heart is thickened) which makes it hard for the heart to pump blood. In 2009 he had surgery and a defibrillator was installed. His first cardiac arrest was when he was 4, then he had another in 2011 while having his tonsils removed and his third was on December 6, 2011 when he passed out at school and had to be revived. His heart stopped for three minutes and while he was out he said he had a vision of his favorite rapper Kid Cudi.

As a writer I try to stay objective about my stories but his story touched my heart so much I felt I had to write on a more personal level. I included quite a few more videos than usual but please take the time to watch them, it’s the best way to get to know the beautiful spirit of Ben Freedlove. If you want more information there are numerous news stories floating around the web or go to Wikipedia. I wanted to touch more on the essence of Ben. This blog posted by Ben shows a typical teenage boy doing the things that a typical boy does, hang out with friends, skateboard and having fun www.youtube.com/watch. You can really tell that Ben loved life and was full of happiness and he had a gentle personality. One only has to watch his videos to see that. <iframe src="http://www.youtube.com/embed/ss8E_lBIuf8" frameborder="0" allowfullscreen></iframe>

After his death on Christmas day his sister Ally turned on the computer the next day to post on Facebook about Ben’s death and found these videos (video 1)  www.youtube.com/watch      (The continuation video 2)  www.youtube.com/watch that had been published by Ben on December 18th  on his site TotalRandomnesss512 and had already had 300 hits. Chances are he probably made the decision to post these because he was frightened by his Cardiac arrest on December 6th. Whether he had a premonition or an epiphany only Ben knows but the videos speak for themselves. After he passed his videos went viral.

More than 1,500 people showed up at his funeral and his father published a touching obituary in memory of his son www.legacy.com/obituaries/statesman/obituary.aspx . Ben’s story is moving and give’s you a true appreciation for the love of life and all it has to offer, even in such a short time. Ben is survived by his Mother Diane, Father Sean, Sister Ally and Brother Jake as well as many friends and fans. Ben was passionate about the plight of children and his parents have set up a memorial fund through Africa New Life Ministry that helps poverty stricken children africanewlife.org/ .

This song is my personal dedication to Ben and his family www.youtube.com/watch peace be with you, Jaz.
